Scholarship
KAAPA seeks to provide the highest amount of scholarship possible based on our membership dues. The 2017 scholarship of $1500.00 will be awarded to one lucky lady. Please make sure to review both the scholarship letter and the application. Please submit your application to our email kwoodpanhellenic@gmail.com by June 1, 2017 no later than 11:59 p.m.
KAAPA utilizes a third party group to review all scholarship applications and determine our winners based on need in addition to other factors like current GPA, college community engagement, course load, and employment. 2016 Scholarship Winners
JOY DAVIS
Joy is a 4.0 2016 Summa Cum Laude graduate of the University of Alabama where she was a pre-med major. Joy plans to further her educational endeavors by attending medical school. Joy is a member of Pi Beta Phi Fraternity where as a collegiate she was Vice-President of Member Development, Pod Leader, Efficiency Chair, and Scholarship Committee Chair. Aside from being involved in sorority life she was also involved in campus activities CAPS Mentor for AED (pre-med honor society) and Panhellenic Recruitment Board. While maintaining all her activities and scholarship, Joy also worked 40 hours per week as a medical scribe at DCH Regional Emergency Department. Joy plans to spend her summer at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Department of Medicine doing Cystic Fibrosis Research. We congratulate Joy on her achievements as and undergraduate and continued success with her future endeavors.
2015 Scholarship Winners
KATHERINE SAWYER
Katherine is attending Texas State University majoring in Radiation Therapy and is a member of Delta Gamma where she is the director of Activities. She is also a member of Colleges against Cancer, CAMCO and Honors College. She works in the summer also during school breaks at 3B's grill 35 hours per week.
LAUREN POTTER
Lauren is attending University of Houston majoring in Health Promotions. She is a member of Sigma Kappa and she also is president of the Resident Hall Association, Club Camp Director of Operations, Orientation Leader and Director Staff she also works 35 hours per week.
